New dean at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology

On 1 October 2025, Prof. Dr Michael Mecking will take over as Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at technische Hochschule Ingolstadt . He succeeds Prof. Dr Andreas Hagerer, who has successfully led and shaped the faculty since the separation of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 2019.

Prof Dr Michael Mecking, Professor of Communication Technology and Signal Processing since 2021 and Vice Dean since 2023, brings with him many years of experience in research and development as well as production management at BMW.

He has led with great commitment and vision - without his dedication, we would not be where we are today," emphasises Prof. Dr Michael Mecking. "I am therefore all the more pleased that he will continue to support us as Vice Dean with his expertise and energy."

With the change, the faculty is undergoing a role reversal in management: Prof Dr Michael Mecking will become Dean, Prof Dr Andreas Hagerer will remain active as Vice Dean.
