Since 1 September, Professor Martin Schall has enriched our Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology as the new Professor of Real-Time Capability and Machine Vision.

Professor Schall studied computer science and software engineering at the HTWG Konstanz. He completed his doctorate at the University of Konstanz in 2022 and most recently worked at Siemens Logistics GmbH and Körber Supply Chain Logistics GmbH.

At THI, Martin Schall is particularly looking forward to the open exchange with colleagues, students and external partners: "I would like to contribute and further develop my experience in machine vision and machine learning - and above all inspire students for these fascinating technologies." His research questions revolve around machine vision and machine learning. He is particularly interested in strengthening these topics in real-time capable systems such as autonomous driving, autonomous flying or industrial automation. In his free time, Professor Schall enjoys sea kayaking or immersing himself in a good book.

We are very much looking forward to working with Professor Martin Schall and would like to welcome him to our faculty!
