Our doctoral student Andreas Rauscher traveled to Dallas, Texas, in August. The IEEE SDEMPED 2025 took place there from August 24 to 27. The thematic focus was on the diagnosis of electrical machines, power electronics, and drives.

On the last day of the conference, Andreas Rauscher gave a presentation on “Convolutional Neural Networks and Thresholding Approaches for Single and Multi-Sensor Detection of Partial Discharges in Electrical Machine Stators” in the session “Machine AI and statistical learning methods for fault detection in electrical machines and drives.” In addition to numerous presentations and scientific exchanges, the conference program also included some very special highlights. These included a gala dinner, a factory tour at Siemens, and a visit to the Fort Worth Stockyards with the famous Texas Longhorn cattle.
