Diversity in motion: The Kaleidoscope Festival unites Europe on the THI campus

Music, dance and encounters: Europe came alive at the Kaleidoscope Festival at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI). A good 350 guests from nine countries came together to celebrate, learn and exchange new ideas for two days.

A low murmur goes through the auditorium as the lights go out. Two students step onto the stage and begin an impressive modern dance performance - powerful, precise, full of expression. There is a tense silence between the spectators from all over Europe, then enthusiastic applause breaks out. For a moment, the European idea becomes visible: diversity in motion.

The festival was part of the European university alliance ACE²-EU, which networks universities, research institutions and practice partners across borders. The focus is on topics such as social justice, sustainability, digitalisation and social change. The aim is to create a digital European university campus that prepares students, researchers and employees for the future.

In addition to THI, eight other universities from Austria, Lithuania, Latvia, Portugal, Romania, North Macedonia and Spain as well as partners from business, politics and culture are involved. ACE²-EU thus strengthens the international orientation of THI and its role as an innovative centre of education and research.

Just how tangible this European exchange can be was demonstrated in Ingolstadt in a very personal way. One student put it in a nutshell: "We come from such different countries - but we understand each other. And sometimes we don't even need words: music and movement are enough."

The Kaleidoscope Festival was more than just a cultural event: it was a piece of the future in action that showed how Europe can grow - through curiosity, creativity and joint action.
