Through interdisciplinary cooperation, we enable our students to develop future-oriented solutions for interdisciplinary challenges. We value and recognise diversity as an enrichment for our cooperation and for achieving our common goals in teaching, research and transfer. We support every member of the university family in their diversity and the potential that their individual background opens up. We treat each other with appreciation and respect.
1.Diversity as a guiding principle
We welcome diversity in all its forms and promote it with mutual respect and tolerance in a liberal attitude. In our dealings with one another, we ensure equal participation and take decisive action against all forms of discrimination. We strengthen diversity sensitivity throughout the entire university family. We see diversity of opinion as an incentive to rethink our own attitudes and find new solutions. We promote mutual exchange between members of the university with different personal backgrounds.
2. Gender identity
We promote gender equality and strive to increase the proportion of women among teaching staff and students. We are convinced that a balanced representation of the genders broadens horizons and improves work results. We take gender aspects into account in our research, communication and work organisation.
3. National and cultural diversity
We promote national and cultural diversity. As a cosmopolitan university, we increase our attractiveness for employees and students with an international background. We support international university members with a wide range of offers and welcome the internationalisation of the university family. In particular, we want to further increase the proportion of international teaching staff and researchers.
4. family equity and social background
Success in work, research and study should be independent of marital status, family responsibilities and social background. In particular, we promote flexible work and study organisation as a basis for reconciling family and career. We also use digital media to achieve these goals and create opportunities for social participation and social equalisation.
5. People with disabilities
Employees and students with disabilities participate in university life on an equal footing and enrich the university. We break down barriers - analogue and digital - and create additional opportunities for people with disabilities.
